PMT was hired to supervise the construction of the Vila Nova de Famalicão Athletics Center, a major sports facility representing an investment of over €6.2 million, which will enhance the municipality's sports offering.

Promoted by the Vila Nova de Famalicão City Council, this new athletics center was designed to meet the demands of competitive and high-performance practice, and is equipped to host 23 athletics disciplines. The infrastructure will be built on a 30,000 m² site in Talvai, in the northern part of the city, establishing itself as a benchmark facility at regional and national level.

The project includes the building of an athletics complex designed to accommodate all disciplines of the sport, including running, jumping, and throwing events. The facility features an eight-lane track with an inner grass surface, complemented by two 100-meter tracks running in opposite directions, allowing for greater versatility in training and competition.

It also includes the construction of bleachers, support buildings, and locker rooms, as well as complementary facilities such as a gym and medical offices, ensuring adequate conditions for technical support and high-level sports competition. The complex will also be equipped with a lighting system designed for television broadcasts.

The program also contemplates the enhancement of the surrounding area, with the construction of a lit clay warm-up track, an outdoor bleacher, a parking lot, and new access roads.

The entire facility was designed with universal accessibility in mind, ensuring that it is suitable for adapted sports.

PMT's role as the entity responsible for supervising the work is to ensure compliance with quality, safety, deadline, and technical control requirements, guaranteeing the correct execution of a highly complex sports facility of public importance.
